About Me

Finding Functional Windows

When I decided to upgrade my house, I realized that it might be wise to invest in high-end windows. In my first home, I bought cheap windows, which created drafts and made it hard to clean. Fortunately, by the time I became a second-time homeowner, I knew what to look for. I looked for windows with ultra violet light protection, tilt and swing cleaning features, and a hydrophobic coating that would repel water. You wouldn't believe the difference it made. Check out this website to learn more about windows and the features that can simplify your life each and every day.

Truly Unique Ways Window Cleaners Get The Job Done

When most people think about commercial window cleaning, they might imagine a team of workers busily attacking plate glass windows with bottles of window cleaner and fresh rags. While that is certainly one way that window cleaning is done today, it might be more common for homes than for commercial buildings. When it comes to commercial buildings, there are often special circumstances that require a unique approach. No matter what type of commercial building needs window cleaning, one of the following approaches can get the job done.

Rising to Great Heights

Commercial window cleaners can use ladders to reach the tallest windows—and these aren't any ordinary ladders. Since many commercial buildings are multi-story, many commercial window cleaning companies use ladders that can extend many stories as high as 40 feet. To keep the ladders stable, levelers are installed in increments on the ladder. The levelers allow the person climbing the ladder to feel just as stable at the 10th floor as they do at the 2nd floor.

Lifting Into the Air

In some cases, especially for the tallest of commercial buildings, even the tallest ladders won't work. For the times that window cleaners need to access windows at the highest levels, an air lift is often used. The air lift is essentially a small platform that can be raised and lowered by crane. The platform can be moved with enough precision that the window cleaners are able to access the windows easily and safely for cleaning.

Swinging the Stage

A swinging stage is a very large platform that is suspended evenly across the building where the windows are being cleaned. At least two window cleaners typically work on the stage at once, with one on each end. This type of scaffolding may be ideal for the large window cleaning jobs where multiple workers are needed to get the job done.

Controlling the Descent

Controlled descent window cleaning devices are typically used in place of a swinging stage. A controlled descent device features a small chair for one person. This chair is attached to a super-strength cable that can be scaled down as each level is completed. Since the person on the chair is in control of their descent, they can move at exactly the right time. Therefore, this is a very effective way to get cleaning done in a timely manner.
